Flamenco Night in Barcelona

Throughout September, El Duende welcomes established artists and emerging flamenco talents. Different generations, styles and personalities take turns on stage, offering an intimate and emotional experience every night, just a few metres from the audience in the heart of Barcelona’s La Rambla.

Lucía “La Bronce”

A Sevillian dancer trained at the Andalusian Dance Centre and Cristina Heeren Foundation. A member of Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía and creator of Recóndito, she won the Desplante Award in 2026.

Sara Barrero

A Barcelona-born dancer who began her professional career at 16. Winner of the Carmen Amaya Award, she has performed at major festivals across Europe, Japan and the United States.

Carmen Young

A flamenco dancer born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and trained in Madrid and Seville. In 2022, she won the Los Amayas Tablao Competition and received several choreography distinctions.

Pedro Medrano

A Barcelona-born dancer with a diploma in Spanish Dance from the Institut del Teatre. He has performed at the Jerez Festival and worked as a soloist across Europe, Asia and Australia.

Susana Escoda

A flamenco dancer from L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and winner of the Carmen Amaya Award. She has built an extensive career as a soloist across Europe, Japan and at Tablao Flamenco Cordobes.

Sebastián Fernández “El Chino”

A young dancer from Sant Roc, Badalona, born into a family closely connected to flamenco. He stands out for his rhythm, stage presence and distinctive artistic personality.

Montserrat Martínez

A Cuban dancer trained in Spanish Dance and Flamenco. She began studying at four with the Spanish Ballet of Cuba and has developed an international stage career from Barcelona.

El Tete

Ricardo Fernández “El Tete”, born in Sant Roc, Badalona, stands out for the strength, elegance and maturity of his dancing. In 2025, he was a finalist at Córdoba’s National Flamenco Art Competition.

Lorena Oliva

A Barcelona-born dancer and Institut del Teatre graduate in Spanish Dance and Flamenco. She has worked with leading companies, festivals and tablaos and created the production Nuclear.

Carlos Velázquez

An experienced flamenco dancer trained at Madrid’s Royal Conservatory and Amor de Dios. He has performed internationally as a soloist with companies including José Greco, Rafael Aguilar and Paco Peña.

Sergio Barroso

A flamenco dancer and choreographer linked to the Paca García Flamenco School and Ballet Flamenco Llobregat. He co-created ¡Silencio!, a production premiered at the Auditori de Cornellà.

Eli Ayala

A Barcelona-born dancer and choreographer who has worked with Rafael Amargo, Rubén Olmo, Javier Latorre and Antonio Canales. She has also created productions including Retales and La Ventanera.

Mathilde Antón

A dancer trained in Toulouse, Madrid and Seville with artists including Concha Jareño, Alfonso Losa and Adela Campallo. Based in Barcelona, she has performed and taught across Europe and Japan.

Azahar Tortajada

A young flamenco dancer trained with artists including Farruquito, Belén López and La Lupi. She won the CreArte Choreography Competition in 2022 and the La Truco International Competition in 2023.
